South American Camelids

Sajama National Park

With our Friends in Bolivia

Memories of Arequipa

Situated adjacent to the Chilean border on the Altiplano at 4000 metres above sea level Sajama National Park
is spectacularly scenic and the home to herds of wild llamas and vicuñas. My thanks to Tito Rodriguez at the
University of La Paz for arranging my visit to the park and to Eliana, my guide & interpreter, and our driver Miguel.

Vicuña the smallest member of the South American camelids at a government
research station that we visited on the way to the National Park from La Paz.
